June in Rosemont

Howdy Rosemontians!

We are heading into summer and I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to be outside and enjoying the great outdoors in this beautiful weather. I haven’t killed my tomatoes (yet) so I’m calling it a great start to summer.

Stampede Breakfast - July 6th

It is almost time to break out your cowboy boots and practice your YAHOO!s because Stampede is around the corner. And what a better way to kick it off than with a free Stampede Breakfast at the hall.

Come on down on July 6 from 8:30am - 10:30am for some live music, bouncy castle, trick roping from the (almost) famous Bud Edgar and of course, a great breakfast.

So throw on some plaid and enjoy a great time with your family and friends in Rosemont.

Facilities for Confed Park

You may notice a port-a-potty near the hall this summer. You may recall that we tried very hard these last few years to try to get some sort of bathroom in Confed Park on our side of 10 St. It never came to fruition, much to my extreme frustration. Instead, we are piloting a port-a-potty this summer to help park-goers and demonstrate to the City that there is a definitive need for this service.

We are hoping for a successful pilot with no issues or concerns. If you see anything suspicious around it, or notice it is in disrepair, please email us at info@rosemontyyc.com.

We want to do our best to make the park a great place for everyone and we’re spending a lot of volunteer time and community resources to make it successful.

Hall Construction

We did some hall upgrades in May, including a fresh coat of paint inside and some additional storage units outside the hall. Unfortunately we weren’t able to replace the ramp and stairs outside the main hall as planned (due to city shenanigans that took about 3 years off my life and replaced them with grey hair). But we’re very happy with the work that was done. A huge thank you to Kurt for his patience and tireless effort in helping make these projects a success.

The Hall is in very high demand these days so if you have an event you would like to book, please reach out to hall@rosemontyyc.com early. Reminder that Rosemont residents get 10% off rentals.

There are many great programs taking place in the hall over summer. Our friends at Common Digs, LDK Karate and Pedalheads are all offering programs. Check out their respective websites for more details.

As always, keep looking after family, friends, neighbours and yourselves.
